BUCS GOLF TOUR - TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES

1. The BUCS Golf Tour shall be governed in accordance with BUCS Rules and Regulations, the Rules of Golf as approved by The R&A and with local rules as approved by the tournament director / referee.

2. A maximum handicap of 5 for men and 12 for women will be permitted at the time of entry. Competitor handicaps will be checked via the CDH handicap database.

3. Places will be allocated according to exact handicap.

4. All events are scratch (gross) scoring.

5. All ties will be decided by count back on the final round score and then the penultimate round score (unless detailed otherwise).

6. Macpherson Order of Merit points will be awarded at each BUCS Golf Tour competition (54 hole) for the following positions:

If a competition (either men's or women's) has six or less entries half the Macpherson Order of Merit points will be awarded.

 

BUCS GOLF TOUR FINALS - QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

 

Competitors must compete in at least two of the nine BUCS Golf Tour qualifying events to be eligible for the BUCS Golf Tour Finals. A competitor's best four finishing positions will count towards the Macpherson Order of Merit.

The following men are eligible for a place at the BUCS Golf Tour Finals:

1. The top 50 competitors in the Macpherson Order of Merit at the end of the nine BUCS Golf Tour qualifying events.

2. The top 6 competitors from the Northern Ireland qualifying events. 

The following competitors are also eligible for a place at the BUCS Golf Tour Finals (must have competed in two qualifying events):

3. Competitors holding a top 20 position in the final Order of Merit leaderboard at the end of the previous season.

4. Competitors gaining full representative honours for their country between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016 (proof from the National Golf Union must be provided).

The following women are eligible for a place at the BUCS Golf Tour Finals:

1. The top 15 competitors in the Macpherson Order of Merit at the end of the nine BUCS Golf Tour qualifying events.

2. The top 2 competitors from the Northern Ireland qualifying events.

The following competitors are also eligible for a place at the BUCS Golf Tour Finals (must have competed in two qualifying events):

3. Competitors holding a top 6 position in the final Order of Merit leaderboard at the end of the previous season.

4. Competitors gaining full representative honours for their country between 1st September 2015 and 31 August 2016 (proof from the National Golf Union must be provided).

Additional, exceptional, entries may be permitted at the discretion of the BUCS Golf Sport Advisory Group (SAG).
